Important Notes on Aruba Taxis

Fixed Rates: Taxi fares in Aruba are generally fixed by the government and are based on the destination zone, not on a meter.

Surcharges: There is typically a surcharge for trips taken on Sundays, official holidays, and late at night (usually 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM).

Luggage: An extra charge is usually applied for each piece of luggage that requires the use of the trunk.

No Wet Passengers: Taxi drivers often will not allow passengers into the vehicle if they are wet or sandy from the beach. Make sure to dry off before getting in.

Wait Times: During high season or late at night, especially weekends, wait times for a taxi can sometimes be longer (up to 30-60 minutes).

No Rideshare: There are currently no Uber, Lyft, or similar rideshare services operating in Aruba.
